New Zealand’s largest extensive living roof was installed at Mt Difficulty Wines in March 2012.
Covering an expansive 900m², the brief was to incorporate local grasses and stonecrop sedum. A palette of grasses was chosen to suit the lightweight pumice-based growing medium. Locally sourced thyme and sedum were used for aromatics and colour respectively.
Using the LiveRoof® pre-vegetated modular system, the roof was installed in 4 days.
